ReCheck Integrates with Concordium: What This Means for You

ReCheck is excited to announce its successful integration with Concordium, one of the world’s most secure and privacy-centric blockchain protocols. This new development boosts ReCheck’s capabilities by enabling secure and transparent transactions on Concordium’s blockchain. It allows users to create and verify identities, ensuring interactions and document sharing are verifiable. Concordium’s ID-layer links accounts to self-sovereign identities, enhancing privacy and accountability. Users can securely store encrypted documents and grant access to verified individuals, meeting the demand for data protection, privacy, and traceability.

What Does This Integration Mean for ReCheck Users?

With this integration, ReCheck’s mobile apps and web platform are now fully connected to Concordium’s blockchain, opening up a new world of secure and legally binding digital transactions. Users can now create their Concordium identity by completing a KYC (Know Your Customer) process with trusted KYC service providers or recover an already established identity directly within the ReCheck mobile app. Alternatively, users can recover existing Concordium identity by importing it into the ReCheck application.

By completing the KYC process, users’ ReCheck accounts and data vaults are now securely linked to their real-world identification data, like information from their ID card, while preserving privacy. This integration ensures that digital actions recorded on the blockchain are not only secure and transparent but also legally recognizable and accountable. The encrypted documents stored on Concordium are tied to users’ real-world identities, providing them with the legal weight to prove actions and transactions made on the platform. This enables businesses to confidently offer services that meet the highest standards of compliance, while users can trust that their data is secure and their digital transactions are legally binding. The key aspect is that users can verify or request a proof from a counterparty before granting access to their  documents.

Zero-knowledge policy

We would like to remind you that our company employs a zero-knowledge policy to ensure that documents uploaded to its platform are securely encrypted using the user’s identity and private keys, granting the user exclusive access to their data. As a service provider, ReCheck cannot read the content of the user’s documents, safeguarding privacy and maintaining a high level of security. This encryption method gives users full control over their information, reducing the risk of unauthorised access or data breaches. By using this approach, ReCheck ensures that sensitive data remains confidential, protected from external threats, and fully compliant with privacy regulations. The platform can verify the existence and authenticity of the data without accessing the content itself, so only the user, with their private keys and identity stored on the mobile device, can decrypt and access their documents. This zero-knowledge approach enhances user trust by preventing both the service provider and any third party from gaining access to sensitive information, even if they were to access the encrypted data.

Potential use cases

ReCheck’s integration with Concordium offers a wide range of use cases across industries. Businesses in regulated sectors like finance, healthcare, and legal services can leverage the platform to create, sign, and store regulatory-compliant digital contracts and agreements, ensuring that each document is linked to a verified real-world identity. Financial institutions can securely onboard clients through the KYC process, reducing the risks of money laundering and fraud. In healthcare, ReCheck’s platform enables secure sharing of medical records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. Public institutions, such as municipalities, can securely exchange documents like permits and certificates, with each document tied to verified identities, preventing fraud.

No personal data stored on ReCheck’s premises

ReCheck does not store users’ real-world identity data, such as information from ID cards verified by third-party identity providers, on its infrastructure, and this data is not visible or accessible via ReCheck’s mobile application. Only the user has access to Concordium Identity  and no ID data is stored on recheck or the Concordium blockchain. This approach was chosen to enhance user privacy and security, ensuring that sensitive identity information remains outside the platform’s reach. By not storing this data on ReCheck’s servers, we mitigate the risk of potential data breaches or unauthorized access. Instead, ReCheck integrates with trusted and regulated third-party  providers for identity verification, ensuring that the user’s personal data is securely managed and protected by specialized services. This additional layer of security reduces the exposure of sensitive information while maintaining trust in the platform, ensuring that only the user, with their private keys, has control over their verified identity.
